FERGUS FALLS, Minn. - No one was injured after a fire broke out Thursday morning, Oct. 4, after a boom lift struck a power line near a Fergus Falls construction site, according to a Fergus Falls Fire Department news release.

At 8:53 a.m. Thursday, crews were dispatched to a gravel parking lot behind 406 East Junius Ave. for a report of a boom lift that came into contact with an overhead power line, the release said.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the boom lift vehicle on fire and the boom arm still in contact with the power line.

No buildings were damaged as a result of the fire. Five vehicles parked near the area of the fire did receive damage. Two of those vehicles are considered a total loss, the release said.

The boom lift was operated by an employee of Red River Glazing.
